NAV-PAC is a back-up power source and voltage conditioner which assures a continuous supply of pure DC power to mobile electronics. Its solid state circuitry absorbs input voltage spikes and RF noise, and an internal stand-by battery comes on line if there is a sharp (or abrupt) drop in input voltage typically encountered during engine start.
NAV-PAC installs in series in the DC power line and acts as a buffer between the "dirty" and fluctuating input voltage and the transceiver or other 12 volt equipment. The "contaminants" and voltage spikes are removed and only pure DC is passed along.
Fleet GPS navigation and tracking systems, microprocessor controlled mobile radios (such as enhanced SMR) and mobile data transceivers all require clean and steady input power for proper operation. Their sensitive circuitry is highly vulnerable to voltage drop from engine start, noise and line spikes from alternators and motors, and conducted noise from other vehicular electronics. Memory loss, inaccurate data and general malfunction of the sensitive devices are common. NAV-PAC prevents all of these problems. For voltage problems associated only with engine start see STARTGUARD.
